The Design Story

Ashok, Suresh Mahavar, and Suresh wove this Manchaha during the preparation of Diwali, remembering the boxes of different sweets prepared in their homes. While talking about sweets, they all realized they loved Kaju Katri, a diamond-shaped cashew sweet. So, they decided to design the rug as a tribute to their favorite sweet. The rug is hand-knotted with both big and small diamond shapes. From a distance, you will see three large diamond shapes. Ashok said that these three pieces are for them, and he will take the largest piece of Kaju Katri. But when you take a closer look, you will see that the whole rug has intricate diamond patterns. The weavers said that they are offering one piece to everyone who views their rug. Suresh mentioned that this rug will spread sweetness to the home of whoever buys it and named the rug “Mishthan,” meaning “Sweet.”
