The Design Story
zameen ki dhadkanZameen Ki Dhadkan"Zameen Ki Dhadkan" – The Heartbeat of the Land, is a reverent tribute to the Earth as a living, breathing being. In this Manchaha, weaver-artist Vineeta pours her soul into a creation that reflects the land’s silent strength, its boundless generosity, and its deep, nurturing spirit. Surrounded by the vibrant fields of her village, Vineeta has always felt a deep connection to the earth beneath her feet. She watches how the soil bears every season, every seed, every step, without ever asking for anything in return. “Zameen jeeti hai,” she says, “Woh zinda hai. Aur woh sabko jeevan deti hai.” (The land is alive. And it gives life to all.) The central motif of her rug is a the heartbeat—an undulating rhythm rendered in thread, rising and falling across her Manchaha like a lifeline. Below it, she has intricately woven the imagery of a sprawling field, filled with the textures and tones of a fertile earth. And above it, the heartbeat pattern speaks of what sustains us. Her rug is a visual song of gratitude to the land that shelters, feeds, and mothers us all.
