The Design Story
swapna jaalSwapna JaalRukshar, a true lover of colors, felt a rush of excitement when he received the yarns for his Manchaha. With both cool and warm tones in hand, he decided to create a rug that showcased the contrasts in life. He believed that life is full of ups and downs, and it is these contrasts that bring balance. Inspired by this thought, Rukshar wove geometric shapes and motifs at the bottom of the rug. He also crafted mountains and rivers to illustrate the contrasts between strength and flow. To take this idea further, he incorporated flowers entangled in traps to represent the balance between growth and limitation. As he moved toward the end of the rug, he included patterns of machines and pipelines, but with a small heart woven into the center, symbolizing how human emotion should always remain at the heart of our increasingly mechanized world. With the theme of contrasts running throughout, Rukshar named the rug “Swapna Jaal,” meaning “Dream Trap.” He explained that while dreams are meant to flow freely, they often become trapped in our minds. Through the rug, he shared this hopeful message with its viewers: "I hope your dreams break free from your mind and take shape, just as mine are taking shape in this rug."
