The Design Story
mera sapnaMera SapnaNamed "Rangeen Sapna" (Colorful Dream), Mahesh’s carpet bursts with vibrant hues and imaginative designs. Starting with a base of red wool, Mahesh enhanced the patterns using silk yarns, elevating the artwork to a new level of sophistication. In each carpet he weaves, Mahesh includes a design resembling "Shakkarpara" (Indian sweet), a personal touch that adds charm. Initially planning to cover the carpet with dots due to its round shape, he quickly realized the need for variety to make it stand out. Introducing a range of colors and designs, he ensured that no two designs on the carpet were alike, handcrafting each one uniquely. At the heart of the carpet lies a special design called "Chokdi," a local symbol of luck, crafted with red yarns. To achieve his vision, Mahesh also borrowed yarns from others and used remnants from previous projects, showcasing his resourcefulness. His artistic sensibility, talent for design, a keen eye for colors, and unwavering passion for art collectively make his Manchaha rug a true masterpiece.
