Silwatein
Shayari Devi has been weaving since a very young age. While the world around her changed, the loom remained her constant companion. Her entire life folded itself into rugs. Now, with age, her eyesight has weakened. Fine patterns are hard to follow. So she weaves only Manchaha, freely, guided by memory and experience. Her rug is simple, marked with soft lines and gentle bends. She calls it “Silwatein” — Folds. Like the creases on fabric, these folds hold her years of labor, love, and quiet devotion. Each knot a moment lived at the loom. "Silwatein" is the folds of her life, woven into wool.
